How to fix a photo that came out badly
Too dark or too bright. Brightness lifts or lowers every pixel by the same amount. It is the right control when a whole picture is under or over exposed, and the wrong one when only the shadows are dark, which is what contrast is for.
Flat and grey. Contrast pushes light pixels lighter and dark pixels darker. A photo taken through glass, in fog, or on a dull day is usually flat rather than dark, and a small contrast increase does more than any amount of brightness.
Colours look washed out. Saturation raises or lowers how strong the colours are. Push it too far and skin goes orange, so a little goes a long way.
Wrong colour overall. Warmth moves the whole picture towards orange or towards blue. Indoor bulbs make photos too orange and shade makes them too blue, and this is the control that corrects both.
What Auto colour does
Auto colour reads the picture's own histogram, finds the darkest and lightest points that actually carry detail, and stretches everything between them to fill the full range. That is what makes a flat photo look like it was taken on a better day. It also balances the three colour channels against each other, which removes most indoor colour casts without you choosing anything. If you do not like the result, press Reset.

Frequently asked questions
Will adjusting reduce the quality?
The pixel dimensions never change. Saving as JPG re-encodes the picture, which loses a little, so choose PNG if you plan to edit it again afterwards.
What is the difference between brightness and contrast?
Brightness moves every pixel the same amount, so a dark photo becomes a grey one. Contrast spreads the pixels apart, so darks get darker and lights get lighter. Most photos that look wrong need contrast, not brightness.
My indoor photos look orange. What do I change?
Lower the warmth. Indoor bulbs are much more orange than daylight and a camera often fails to correct for it. Auto colour usually fixes this on its own.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
