How to resize an image

Enlarging vs shrinking
Shrinking an image keeps it sharp. Enlarging past the original size cannot invent detail, so very large increases can look soft. For the crispest result, resize down from the biggest version you have.

What size should a passport photo be in pixels?
A standard 35 by 45 mm passport photo is about 413 by 531 pixels at 300 DPI, and a 2 by 2 inch US passport or visa photo is 600 by 600 pixels. Both are ready as presets.
What is the right size for an Instagram or WhatsApp profile picture?
Instagram profile pictures work best at 320 by 320 pixels and WhatsApp at 640 by 640. Pick the preset and the tool crops your photo to a clean square.
Will resizing stretch my photo?
No. With the lock on, both sides stay in proportion. When you use a preset with a different shape, Crop to fit trims the edges instead of stretching.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is resized inside your browser on your own device and is never sent to a server.
